Foreign trade up 26 percent
Russia in the first two months of 2011 boosted its foreign trade with as much as 25,5 percent year-on-year.
While exports in the period increased by 17,7 percent, imports increased with as much as 45,9 percent, figures from the Federal Customs Service show.
In relations with key trading partners like China, Germany, Italy, Belarus, Poland, Japan and the USA, the trade turnover increase amounted to respectively 44,7 percent, 23,8 percent, 0 percent, 35,3 percent, 11,6 percent, 77,7 percent and 61,5 percent.
Russia’s trade relations with Finland in the period increased 2 percent year-on-year, while they with Sweden increased 17,5 percent. In relations with Norway, the trade turnover shrunk by 13,7 percent.

Oil and gas remains the backbone of Russian exports, while machinery and technology equipment is the biggest part of imports.
